ASPECTS OF THE DEVELOPED RESEARCH
WITH REFERENCE TO THE PERFORMANCES

  This report deals with the design of a new prototype of an equipment, developed for the quantitative analysis of neuromotor diseases. It may measure the reaction of a person evaluating in the motion of one finger of the hand the time response, the velocity of phalanxes, the force exerted from the finger against a button. The condition of motion are ballistic motion, controlled motion guided by vision, controlled motion without vision, motion with a virtual reality modelization on the computer screen. The system, called DD1, as acronym for Disease Detector, performs the more modern aspect connected with concurrent and simultaneous engineering, and utilizes results in design with colors applications.It has been developed with last results in microelectronics and computers, using design of mechatronics equipment. New releases of software languages have been applied.The system performs also the requirements for medical applications and with its portability and accordance to European normative for safety and quality, represents a new step towards the possibility of quantitative analysis of the performances of the human hand both of mechanical phenomenon and electromyographic of neuromotor diseases, which provoke a decrease in upper and lower limbs action. (Fig.1 and Fig.2).3

The activity developed in the project has been devoted to four activities:1) - check and evaluation of the new design, called DD1, of the finger - glove system for evaluation of neuromotor response;2) - tests on healthy persons and preparation of papers to the scientific community to give the opportunity of a comparison with other systems in the neurological studies and researches;3) - analysis of considerations of possible developments;4) - cooperation with Istituto Neurologico Besta, for preparing the specific version for tests in the Institute on patients and healthy persons to adjust all the software characteristics and hardware characteristics to the most large number of applications in Parkinson's diseases.
